Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – A presentation of software for the Tax Administration Reform Project (RARP) and the concept of developing a new tax information system (IRMS) have been organized at the Ministry of Finance.
According to Minister of Finance Aleksandar Damjanovic, RARP is considered to be the most important reform project in Montenegro.
Damjanovic said that the project would have a significant impact on improving all work processes within the tax sector.
As a result, it is expected to lead to expanding the tax records, ensuring better control of tax compliance, combating the informal economy, and ultimately, generating significant revenues for the state budget from areas that were not systematically recognized or included in legal channels before.
The project will be financed by the World Bank and implemented by the OWL consortium, with the institutional support of the Ministry of Finance.
Representatives of the consortium, comprising OSA Computer Engineering from Belgrade, wedoIT solutions GmBH from Vienna, and Lanaco from Banja Luka, said that the software was highly parameterized and adaptable.
According to them, the design of the final concept will be preceded by a comprehensive analysis of business processes.
It was concluded at the presentation that, in this phase, the focus would be placed on the identification of the starting points for implementation through the establishment of an appropriate regulatory framework, including the amendments to secondary legislation.
