The expert on Balkan affairs, Anton Panqev considers that there is a risk of a repetition of an aggression by the state of Serbia towards Kosovo, similar to that of Banjska where the police sergeant, Afrim Bunjaku was killed. However, due to geopolitical developments in the world, he says he sees no danger in the near future.

According to him, the security situation in Kosovo depends a lot on Russian aggression in Ukraine, where as he says, an escalation by Russia would also affect escalations by Serbia.

He criticizes the Serbian president, whom he says plays a double game, using the European Union only to take its investments.

In an interview for KosovaPress, the Bulgarian albanologist also criticizes the European Union for its soft approach towards Serbia, adding that “in the case of Kosovo, there are internal political games in some EU countries”.

However, he is optimistic that in the near future there will be no escalation of the situation in the north of Kosovo.

While he is critical of the European Union, Pancev also criticizes the president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic.

According to him, the EU’s game to share the “blame” between Prishtina and Belgrade is unfair, when it is well known who is the aggressor.
