Sculptor dedicates steampunk style metal dress weighing 55 kilograms to 3-year old daughter

Bucharest, Oct 14 /Agerpres/ – A Romanian sculptor created a metal dress weighing approximately 55 kilograms made of 4mm steel wires welded together and a metal suit, being inspired by his 3-year old daughter, with the two works symbolizing a meeting in the future between the dad and his 18-year old teenage daughter, at a ball.

The dress and the suit were made by artist Andrei Razvan Ghita being ordered by a hotel from Romania.

“Most of my sculptures are ordered by clients and this one is for a client of mine who wanted a spot where people could make beautiful pictures for Instagram. We agreed together to make a dress and a suit, and I dedicated the works to my daughter. My daughter is 3 years and 8 months old now. I am the one who is making these works, but I dedicate them to the people who I hold dear, this is my secret. I was imagining that my daughter was about to turn 18 and I would go to a ball with her, or to a party, and there we will dance together,” Andrei Razvan Ghita told AGERPRES.

According to the sculptor, the main piece, the dress, was made of 70 kilograms of steel wires and took into account the measurements of a women about 1.67 m tall. The dress was painted in colours inspired by autumn leaves and the suit was painted black.
