At the 74th edition of the Balkan Senior Athletics Championships, held Saturday and Sunday in Pitesti, Romania won 5 gold, 10 silver and 11 bronze, finishing 1st in the nation ranking, with 267 points. It was followed by Turkey – 205 points and Greece – 163.5 points.
The Romanian athletes came in first both in the women’s contests — for the 36th time out of 58 times when women’s contests were held — and the men’s contests, for the 19th time.
In the women’s ranking, Romania won 138 points. It was followed by Greece (89.5 points) and Turkey (86 points), while in the men’s ranking it won 129 points; Turkey was second with 119 points, while Croatia ended 3rd, with 84 points. More…
