Regional issues and issues pertaining cooperation between Cyprus, Greece and Israel on practical matters, will be examined during the Cyprus-Greece-Israel tripartite high level meeting that will take place in Nicosia next Thursday.

Director of the Foreign Ministry’s Division of Middle East and North Africa, Ambassador Leonidas Pantelides, told CNA that many preparations are underway for the forthcoming high level meeting.

A number of regional issues and issues of cooperation in practical fields between the three countries are on the agenda, he said, noting that there are a number of fields in which the three countries can cooperate and the fields of cooperation are prioritized.

At the same time, he said, the Steering Committee is looking into the practical issues of cooperation, such as terrorism, tourism, water management, crisis situations and other.

Pantelides confirmed the ministers of energy from the three countries will participate in the meeting who will be given the opportunity to look into energy matters but will not go into detailed discussions.
