Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Minister of Maritime Affairs Filip Radulovic has said that more than a thousand ships and yachts have used the services of the Port of Kotor since the beginning of the year, bringing nearly 400,000 passengers to Montenegro.
He stated that such numbers were yet another indicator of the importance of maritime connections for both the economy and tourism.
According to Radulovic, a successful maritime season has confirmed that our part of the Adriatic coast is attractive and its infrastructure is ready for the growing interest of maritime companies.
“This figure demonstrates the increasing interest of tourists in our destination, further affirming its attractive status internationally. The beautiful coastline, with its clean beaches and blue sea, has made a strong impression on visitors,” said Radulovic.
Since the beginning of the year, the Port of Kotor has serviced 311 passenger ships and 752 yachts. The total number of registered passengers arriving in Kotor through these means was 391,800.
Radulovic said that, weather permitting, good results would be achieved in the coming months.
“We expect this trend to continue during the post-season, which promises to be successful. The Montenegrin coast requires careful evaluation, as only through a responsible approach can we ensure sustainable development that will preserve the beauty of our coast and provide economic benefits to coastal municipalities,” said Radulovic.
