Radu Jude’s feature ‘Kontinental ’25’ selected for 2025 Berlin International Film Festival Competition
Bucharest, Jan 21 /Agerpres/ – Romanian filmmaker Radu Jude’s most recent feature ‘Kontinental ’25’ has been selected for the Berlin International Film Festival Competition.
Berlinale Director Tricia Tuttle, alongside the two film programming Co-Directors Jacqueline Lyanga and Michael Stutz presented on Tuesday the 19 titles selected for the festival’s Competition lineup, as well as the entries to the new competitive section Perspectives.
”Kontinental ’25’ is less a film about, than a film with: an eviction, a suicide, a moral crisis – all drowned in thousands and thousands of words: words, words, words!,’ director Radu Jude said, as cited in a release.
‘Kontinental ’25’ is expected to hit the Romanian movie theaters in spring of 2025.
Radu Jude previously participated in the Berlin Festival official competition in 2021 with the production ‘Bad Luck Banging Or Loony Porn’ (winner of the Best Film Golden Bear award), and in 2015 with ‘Aferim!’ (Silver Bear for Best Director).
The Romanian film director will also participate in the selection of Berlin’s Woche der Kritik / Critics’ Week, an event organized by the German Film Critics Association and which runs between February 12 and February 20 in parallel with the Berlinale.
