Prishtina-Amsterdam, a new airline for the citizens of Kosovo

Citizens of Kosovo will be able to travel twice a week directly to Amsterdam, since today the first direct flight was inaugurated at Prishtina International Airport “Adem Jashari”.

Levent Kaylaj, the director of operations at Prishtina International Airport, expressed his happiness that they are opening new flight gates.

He said that this line is important to grow and preserve Kosovo-Netherlands relations.

“This is our first direct flight from Pristina to Amsterdam. We are so glad to open new gates, and we are planning to grow more. This is very important for us between Netherland and Kosovo relationship to grow all good relationship and maintain. We are so happy to open direct flight. It will be two frequency per week, Monday and Thursday, seasonal flight, it will continue same. We hope our all Kosovar people and Netherland citizens will take advantage to take this flight”, said the director of operations at the international airport “Adem Jashari”.

The Ambassador of the Netherlands to Kosovo, Karin Boven, considered the beginning of direct Prishtina-Amsterdam flights a great moment for bilateral relations between Kosovo and the Netherlands.

“I’m so happy that already today, we have a direct flight between Prishtina and Schiphol, between Kosovo and the Netherlands. It’s quite an achievement so well done everyone behind the scenes to make this happen. We are celebrating today with us the airport manager, the ministry is here, and my staff is here, and so in the crew of easy jets is also here to celebrate. This is really a big moment, good for bilateral relations between Kosovo and the Netherlands and I hope passengers will travel frequently to visit our beautiful two countries and I hope also trade and investment will grow through this new opportunity of a direct flight”, she said.

The possibility of flights from Kosovo to Amsterdam and vice versa has been welcomed by travelers.

Nihal Shehu-Shurdhani, who was traveling from Prishtina to Amsterdam, expressed her joy that her journeys with this line have become easier.

“Much easier, we are very happy that this new line has opened and it makes it easier for us because it allows us not to go to Germany or somewhere else, it is a very good solution, it is also a good time to travel”, she said.

Also Naim Sahatçiu considers the opening of the Prishtina-Amsterdam airline line a positive step.

He says that this line also shortens the journey of passengers.

“It is very easy and very good for us as passengers because now they travel directly to Amsterdam, otherwise we traveled from Germany or other countries, now we have it much easier and much better”, he said.

Representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora of Kosovo also participated in the inauguration ceremony of the first Amsterdam-Prishtina flight.
