President Nicos Anastasiades had a telephone conversation on Monday with Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras.
According to a written statement by Government Spokesman Nicos Christodoulides, the two leaders discussed the latest developments in the Cyprus problem, the situation of the Greek economy as well as regional and international issues in view of the visit of Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu tomorrow to the island.
Cyprus has been divided since the 1974 Turkish invasion. Peace talks under the aegis of the UN are currently underway with the aim to reunite the island under a federal roof.
