PM Ponta: Political decisions could not be censored by prosecutor

Prime minister Victor Ponta said on Monday, after he was heard at the legal Committee with the Chamber of Deputies, that he has told the members of this forum that the political decisions could not be censored by a prosecutor.

“I told them what I believe, as a jurist, not as a deputy, not as a political person, namely that the political decisions could not, according to the Constitution, be censored by a prosecutor, but only the legal ones. The political decisions — either that a party has made a decision, after which the Parliament has voted, after which the President has signed a decree-law — these are political decisions and nothing more.
