Prime Minister Dacian Ciolos says that in his capacity he will do his best for a more active role of Romania in the European Union.
“I believe in a strong European family and I’ll do my best as Prime Minister for a more active role of Romania in the European Union. It’s the only way we could entirely use the benefits of integration,” says Premier Dacian Ciolos in a post on his Facebook page, in connection with his participation in the first working session of the European Council.
The head of the Executive emphasizes that the main topic addressed by the heads of states and governments is migration, ‘a topic with political sensitivity that concerns both the member states and the ones in the neighbourhood right now.’
“Like I stated in the Romanian Parliament, my stance is clear: the EU should insist firstly on the understanding and treating the causes of migration, and afterwards on the identification of the best measures to keep under control the illegal, uncontrolled migration,” says Ciolos, adding that the European leaders “will try to endorse a resolution on the situation in Syria,” and will debate the proposition to extend by 6 months the sanctions to the Russian Federation.
