Ovidiu Anton will represent Romania to Eurovision

Ovidiu Anton will represent Romania to Eurovision with ‘Moment of Silence’, after winning the National Selection of the competition on Sunday, in the northwestern city of Baia Mare.

In the finals of Eurovision Romania, the public was the only one that has chosen the representative for Stockholm, through televoting.

The vote could have been expressed by sending the contest entry number of the favourite (01, 02, 03,…06), by text message for an hour.

The entry order in the contest was: 1. Florena — ‘Behind the Shadows’, 2. Doru Todorut feat. Irina Baiant — ‘The Voice’, 3. Dream Walkers — ‘Let It Shine’, 4. Vanotek feat. The Code & Georgian — ‘I’m Coming Home’, 5. Ovidiu Anton — ‘Moment of Silence’ and 6. M I H A I — ‘Paradisio.’

The European song contest is scheduled in Stockholm, Sweden on 10, 12 and 14 May, with 43 countries registered, three more than in 2015.

Romania will participate in the second semifinal, on 12 May, alongside Albania, Bulgaria, Denmark, Georgia, Slovenia, Norway, Ukraine, Belgium, Latvia, Belarus, Ireland, Switzerland, Macedonia, Australia, Lithuania, Poland, Israel and Serbia. More…
