TIRANA, Feb 5 /ATA/ Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Igli Hasani, met on Monday in Rome with Senator Giulio Terzi, to discuss concrete projects aimed at further strengthening the strategic partnership between Albania and Italy, also in light of Albania’s EU integration.
In addition, the interlocutors shared views on current developments in the region and cooperation to address common security challenges for a safer environment for our countries and peoples, MEFA announced on Monday.
The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Igli Hasani, is in Rome to participate in the meeting of the foreign ministers of the Western Balkans.
The highlight of this meeting will be the integration of the Western Balkans into the EU, regional cooperation and economic integration.
The meeting will be presided over by the Vice President of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani.
On Tuesday, Albania and Italy will finalize the agreement on the mutual recognition of social security contributions.
Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Igli Hasani, will sign the agreement with his counterpart Tajani.
The agreement comes as an obligation to Albanian, Italian and Italian-Albanian citizens, who have worked with dedication for 30 years and have contributed to the economy and social progress of both our countries.
Minister Hasani’s visit to Italy marks an in-depth commitment to expanding cooperation with Italy in areas of mutual interest, in line with the Strategic Partnership Declaration.
The aim is to reaffirm Italy’s support, both bilaterally with a wide range of cooperation in areas of common interest, and multilaterally, especially in European integration, reaffirming Italy’s support for an accelerated integration process by 2030, as Vice President of the Council of Ministers and MoFA Tajani said.
