ZAGREB, 19 Aug (Hina) – In the first half of 2024, 57 cruise ships visited Croatia, which was one more than in the H1 2023, and they made 244 cruise trips in the Croatian Adriatic, +7%, compared to the corresponding period of 2023,В according to the Croatian Bureau of Statistics (DZS).
Fewer cruise ship, more passengers aboard
Those 57 ships brought 350,000 visitors, a rise of 24% year on year.
In June alone, cruise ships made two percent fewer trips, however the number of passengers aboard was 18.6% more than in June 2023.
The DZS data show that those cruise ships paid shorter visits this year than in 2023. The duration of their visits was 524 days, 2.2% down.
Most of the cruise ships flew the flag of the Bahamas and Malta.
Dubrovnik-Neretva County and Split-Dalmatia Counties were the most sought-after destinations.
