The Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu arrives today in Cyprus for a short visit during which he will hold talks with the President of the Republic Nicos Anastasiades.
Netanyahu and his entourage will be officially welcomed at the Presidential Palace by the President. The official ceremony will be followed by a tete a tete meeting between the Israeli PM and President Anastasiades and talks with the participation of their respective delegations. Later on, they will make statements to the press but will not take any questions.
President Anastasiades will host a lunch for his guest. Netanyahu returns home in the afternoon.
In statements to CNA earlier this month, Government Spokesman Nicos Christodoulides said that the Israeli Prime Minister will discuss with President Anastasiades bilateral issues and matters concerning the Middle East region.
President Anastasiades visited Israel in mid June and invited Netanyahu to visit Cyprus.
Diplomatic sources have told CNA that his visit to the island just a month and a half after Anastasiades` visit to Israel indicates the very good level of relations between Cyprus and Israel.
