Prime Minister Victor Ponta appreciated the special relations between Romania and Italy on Tuesday evening, at the reception hosted by the Italian Ambassador to Bucharest, Diego Brasioli, on the National Day of the Italian Republic.
Ponta thanked the Italian businesspeople, in a speech in their language, for providing jobs for Romanians.
“I thank all the Italian entrepreneurs who employ Romanians and I want to promise them we will continue to lower the duties and taxes. (…) I want to mention we have an absolutely special relation with Italy, and to thank His Excellency the Ambassador and the embassy staff, who always collaborate with Romania’s authorities and Government,” the prime minister said.
The celebration of Italy Day was dominated by sports; a team of former stars of Italian soccer, led by 1982 world champion Giancarlo Antognoni, attended the reception. More…
