Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – According to the Ministry of Finance, the total government debt, excluding deposits, amounted to €4.08 billion or 66.09 percent of the gross domestic product at the end of March.
“Including deposits, the total government debt amounted to €3.8 billion or 61.57 percent of GDP at the end of March,” says a report published by the Ministry.
The report says that the external debt amounted to €3.62 billion or 58.62 percent of GDP, while the internal one amounted to €461 million or 7.47 percent of GDP.
According to the report, the deposits amounted to €278.78 million at the end of March, including 38,450 ounces of gold, or 4.51 percent of GDP.
“Compared with the end of the last year, the public debt rose in the first quarter primarily because of an increase in the external debt caused by a €100 million credit arrangement with Deutsche Bank, signed in February,” the report says.
