The Ministry of Justic is thoroughly and committedly investigating the possibilities and ways of classifying femicide as a separate criminal offense through amending of the Criminal Code, planned for the second half of next year, Minister Andrej Milovic has said.

He wrote on the X social platform that femicide, cruel murder of women, motivated by their gender, requires a decisive response.

“That’s why the aim of this initiative, apart from strengthening the legal protection of women, is also to encourage the entire society to proactively suppress this extremely monstrous form of violence”, says Milovic.
