MERITO teacher from Buzau tutors students from across country for National Assessment no charge

Catalin Zaman, a teacher from the MERITO network of teachers and principal of the Nicolae Ispas Teacher Secondary School in Clondiru, eastern Buzau County, will offer free online tutoring starting in June to students from all over the country who want to prepare for the National Assessment exam.
The lessons are intended for all 8th grade students, especially those whose parents cannot provide them with additional tuition, with children from Maramures, Cluj or Iasi already enrolled.
Pupils wishing to join the programme should send an e-mail or a message on the Facebook page “Proful de la tara” (The teacher from the countryside).
“This is a project that I have been thinking about for a few years, but I have not been able to put it into practice due to lack of time. It’s a project I’ve been dreaming about for a long time. This year I made the decision to organise online tutoring because it was a clear sign to me that there are many children who really need help. The lessons are free, those interested can email me at profuldelatara@gmail.com, there I give them a link to a WhatsApp group and from next week we get going, we set a timetable so that everyone is available. I hope this is just the beginning and that more and more students will come, year after year. I would like to start a training programme next year for students taking the Baccalaureate, also free of charge, online,” said MERITO teacher of Romanian.
Catalin Zaman received the MERITO award in 2021 after more than half of his students scored above 9 on the National Assessment exam.
