Managing director of Romanian Brewers Association, to take over mandate of secretary general of European Brewers
The Director General of the Romanian Brewers Association, Julia Leferman, will take over from August 1 the mandate of Secretary General of European Brewers, an organization that represents over ten thousand beer producers from the continent, according to a press release sent to AGERPRES on Tuesday.
According to the source, Leferman holds the position of managing director of Romanian Brewers since 2017, having over 20 years of experience in public affairs and management consulting. During her mandate at the Brewers of Romania, the foundations were laid for the largest environmental project in the country, the Return Guarantee System.
In her new position, Julia Leferman will coordinate the strategic direction of the organization, collaborating closely with the national associations of brewers, beer producing companies, industry partners and authorities. The key responsibilities of the mandate are the activity of lobbying and representation in the direct relationship with the European authorities, in the effort to develop sectoral policies with impact in the field.
Brewers of Romania has been the voice of the Romanian beer sector for 20 years, advocating for public policies that encourage the local economy and respect the principles of predictability and transparency. The companies in the field generate over 60 thousand jobs nationwide, of which 6,000 in the beer industry. The association’s projects aimed, over time, at establishing a fair fiscal framework, encouraging responsible consumption and a clean, inclusive environment through the creation of the Return Guarantee System, which Romanian Brewers Association is part of.
