The Foreign Affairs Ministry (MAE) starts on Friday the 2016 edition of the “Dialogue with Diaspora on consular topics” programme, which was launched last year and is aimed at informing the most numerous communities of Romanians abroad on the programmes and projects conducted by MAE for the modernisation of the consular activity.
According to a MAE release to AGERPRES, the programme will run in the first half of 2016 in Spain, Italy, France, Germany and the UK.
“A team of MAE’s Consular Department will travel to Romanian diaspora communities, which are the direct beneficiaries of these programmes, to present them the latest news about the E-Cons consular service system. The first meetings will take place this week in Madrid. At the meetings with Romanians from the diaspora, the MAE Central Office representatives will be able to discuss directly with them about the issues they are facing in the consular area, as well as the most efficient modalities for long-term solving,” MAE points out.
The release adds that regional meetings will also be organised with the diplomats with consular duties in the states neighbouring those directly included in the campaign, for a good practice exchange in using E-Cons and the consular procedures manual.
“Also attending the meetings will be representatives of the partner institutions in implementing the E-Cons system: the Directorate for Personal Records and Data Base Administration within the Interior Ministry and the National Union of Public Notaries of Romania,” the MAE release also reads. More…
