Leaders hold new meeting on Tuesday

President Nicos Anastasiades and Turkish Cypriot leader Mustafa Akinci will have on Tuesday a new meeting, in the framework of the UN-led talks aiming to solve the Cyprus problem with a view to reuniting the country, divided since the 1974 Turkish invasion.

This is the second meeting of the leaders, out of three scheduled for December. The first one took place on December 4, while the next one is scheduled to take place on December 20.

UN Secretary Genenal`s Special Adviser on Cyprus Espen Barth Eide will be received in the morning by President Anastasiades at the Presidential Palace.

Speaking to the press after his last meeting with Akinci, Anastasiades said that through the exchange of views, the two sides are able to assess where there are convergences and where differences still remain, adding that the next meetings will certainly continue in the same constructive manner.

Asked if the property issue was discussed, the President said that this as well as other issues were on the agenda.
