The leaders of the two communities in Cyprus, President of the Republic Nicos Anastasiades and Turkish Cypriot leader Mustafa Akinci have arrived at Ledra Palace for a dinner with UNSG Special Adviser Espen Barth Eide.
Following the dinner it is expected that Eide will announce the exact date for the resumption of the talks with the aim to reunite the island under a federal roof.
The leaders are accompanied by their negotiators Andreas Mavroyiannis and Ozdil Nami.
Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots holding banners with messages for peace and reunification have gathered at Ledra Palace to welcome the two leaders.
Cyprus has been divided since the 1974 Turkish invasion.
