The Prime Minister of the country, Albin Kurti, in marking the Day of the Force, said that the priority of this government has been the protection and strengthening of the Kosovo Security Force.
He emphasized that compared to previous years, there has been a doubling of the number of soldiers and a tripling of the budget for defense. Meanwhile, he added that the country’s Force is being continuously strengthened together with the Republic of Kosovo.
Minister of Defense, Ejup Maqedonci, said that the opening of the first ammunition production factory in the country will boost Kosovo’s military industry. In this regard, he said that this day is also marked by an important step in completing the defense and security infrastructure.
Prime Minister Kurti, at a government meeting on Wednesday, announced that he had decided to establish an inter-ministerial commission to take the first steps towards establishing the military industry.
He said that the initial goal is to start procedures and negotiations regarding the opening of a factory for the production of ammunition and a laboratory for the design of unmanned aerial vehicles.
