Kurti: The government is for the family, we aim for equality and the promotion of employment

The Kosovo government has launched a scheme to support employment for able-bodied members of families benefiting from the pilot social assistance reform, subsidizing 70 percent of their salary for six months. Also, the same will not automatically be removed from the social scheme.

Prime Minister Albin Kurti said that this measure aims for equality and promoting employment.

The Minister of Finance, Labor and Transfers, Hekuran Murati, said that through this scheme the aim is to encourage the employment of members of families benefiting from social assistance. He also provided details on how much the salary subsidy for a worker will be for six months, as well as the other amount for the next six months.

The Country Manager for Kosovo and for North Macedonia, in the Europe and Central Asia Region of the World Bank, Massimiliano Paolucci, said that investing in families with social assistance is not only a moral responsibility, but also a sustainable strategy for each country.
