Indian invents ‘Romanian kebab’, hopes local traditional cuisine embraces it

An Indian who has been living in Romania for over 15 years invented a new sort of kebab he named ‘Romanian’, which he serves in his own restaurant, the first oriental club in the north-western region of Cluj.

Danish Ashraf lives in Cluj-Napoca, where he arrived more than a decade ago to attend the Faculty of Medicine. He has meanwhile decided to open an Indian food restaurant and, in an attempt to get the local clients acquainted with oriental flavors, he adjusted a kebab recipe, toning down its original pungency so as to fit the milder preferences of the Romanians. More…
