If North Korea’s nuclear test is confirmed, it represents a challenge to peace and security in the region, the Romanian Foreign Affairs Ministry asserted in a release to AGERPRES on Wednesday.
“The Foreign Affairs Ministry expresses its concern over the announcement of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea of January 6 on the testing of a hydrogen bomb. If confirmed, as the High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini has also underlined, the nuclear test carried out by the North Korean authorities breaches the resolutions of the UN Security Council and represents a challenge to the peace and security in the region,” the document reads.
The Foreign Ministry stresses that Romania, as chair of the Preparatory Commission of Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty, will keep monitoring closely the evolutions of the North Korean nuclear file and its consequences on a regional and global level. More…
