The performance by actors of the “Marin Sorescu” National Theatre of Craiova of Silviu Purcarete’s “A Tempest” – an adaptation of William Shakespeare’s eponymous play – at the 33rd edition of the Izmir International Theatre Festival was received with great interest by the local public.
According to a release of the Romanian Cultural Institute “Dimitrie Cantemir” — Istanbul branch, the nearly 850 spectators in the Buyuk Anadolu Hall of the Tepekule Convention and Exhibition Centre of Izmir “gave the outstanding performance staged by famous Silviu Purcarete a standing ovation minutes on end, on both days of the show.”
Both performances on April 2 and 3 were sold out, with high-profile names of the Turkish and international theater, directors, actors, reviewers and theater historians attending. More…
