“Heroic determination” is required for the reunification of Cyprus, the President of the European Parliament Martin Schulz says.
As the Conference on Cyprus starts in Geneva, Schulz wrote in a message, posted on his twitter account, “Cyprus` guarantors meet today in Geneva. A first. A telling moment in reunification efforts. A moment which calls for heroic determination”.
The UN are hosting a conference on Cyprus to address the issue of security and guarantees, with the participation of Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades, Turkish Cypriot leader Mustafa Akinci and the three guarantor powers (Greece, Turkey and the UK).
