TIRANA, May 9 /ATA/ The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Igli Hasani, said on Thursday that Europe will be more complete with the integration of the Western Balkan region.
In the context of Europe Day, the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs organized on Thursday the panel “Europe at home”, with the participation of the ambassador of the EU delegation in Tirana, Silvio Gonzato, chief negotiator Majlinda Dhuka, etc.
In his remarks, Minister Hasani said that “beyond differences and geographical borders, there is a common interest,” emphasizing that “the war in Ukraine is another apocalyptic nightmare that threatens Europe.”
“Putin-led aggression aims to extend beyond the borders of Ukraine. His foe is not just a country, but a system embodied today by the EU. This conflict between democracy and dictatorship strengthens our faith in the EU,”said Hasani.
According to him, the acceleration of the accession process remains essential, as only in this way Europe will be more complete and safer.
“The slogan ‘We love Albania like all of Europe’ is today the primary thesis of our foreign policy. European integration remains our great moral obligation towards the younger generations,” he added.
Speaking about the EU parliamentary elections, Hasani emphasized that “it is important that the acceleration of the process remains high on agenda.”
