Greek PM to visit Cyprus on Monday

The newly elected Prime Minister of Greece Alexis Tsipras will visit Cyprus on Monday February 2, according to an official announcement.

Following the announcement, the scheduled visit of Cypriot Foreign Minister Ioannis Kasoulides to Athens on Tuesday has been postponed.

President Nicos Anastasiades congratulated Tsipras on his election victory, saying he was looking forward to an excellent and close cooperation so that the two countries could address the challenges in all the major issues they are facing, whether these concern the Cyprus problem or the economy.

After his visit to Cyprus, the first visit abroad as PM, Tsipras will visit Italy.
