Gov’t: Camelia Toader, Romania’s candidate for CJEU judgeship

The Government on Wednesday passed a memorandum concerning the nomination of Romania’s candidate for a judge office with the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) under which incumbent judge Camelia Toader is re-nominated for office.

“According to the procedure carried out over the past weeks, three candidates were picked. Based on the points scored in tests and interviews, the joint board made up of officials of the Justice Ministry and the Foreign Ministry picked [incumbent CJEU judge] Camelia Toader out of three candidates,” governmental spokesman Corneliu Calota told journalists at a news briefing on Wednesday.
