Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – According to Minister of Finance Novica Vukovic, the main goal of the Government in the area of fiscal policy is to create the preconditions for a comprehensive reform of the tax system, with the aim of expanding the tax base, and thereby creating new sources of revenue.

Speaking today in Parliament during the discussion on the proposal of Montenegro’s Fiscal Strategy for the period through 2027, Vukovic stated that this was a key development document for the Government’s term, outlining the key measures of economic fiscal policy, as well as other reforms in the business environment.

Vukovic stated that Montenegro had not had a fiscal strategy since 2021.

“The existence of a Fiscal Strategy allows for predictability in government policies and visions, both for the economy, investors, and citizens,” Vukovic said.

According to him, every measure proposed in the Fiscal Strategy has been carefully analyzed regarding its impact on macroeconomic and fiscal stability, as well as on employers and employees.
