The University of Prishtina organized for the third time the diaspora symposium in computing, with the topic “Artificial Intelligence-Kosovo”. This symposium was considered important for building relations between universities, as well as for sharing experiences and cooperating in the future.
The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Liza Gashi, said that in the framework of the work as ministry, the focus is on the diaspora, in order to advance the role in cooperation with the scientific and professional diaspora. She said that a modality must be found to engage the scientific diaspora within the UP.
Meanwhile, the rector of the University of Prishtina “Hasan Prishtina”, Qerim Qerimi said that artificial intelligence has the potential to address some of the most urgent issues of our world and to create a world where technology works side by side with humanity for the good of all.
Further, Qerimi stated that as we stand at the dawn of the future driven by Artificial Intelligence, we also face challenges and responsibilities as we unlock the potential of artificial intelligence, according to him, we must also ensure that it is used ethically and responsibly, and for the good of all mankind.
Meanwhile, the dean of the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Isak Shabani, considered the symposium as very important for all actors in the country.
Among other things, he praised the University of Prishtina as the first and the largest in the knowledge market in Kosovo and that, according to him, this university since the beginning has been created for a leadership with resistance and continuous development.
Shabani said that the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering (FECE), as an integral part of UP, is oriented towards a national and international model of a contemporary faculty.
Also, Shabani said that they are in cooperation with several prestigious universities in Denmark. He said that FECE has been planning study programs for subjects in all studies in the field of artificial intelligence for two decades.
