MEP of New Democracy and EPP Fredi Beleri has been elected Deputy Chairman of the European Parliament’s Committee on Petitions (PETI).
According to a relevant announcement, Beleri secured the vice-presidential position with cross-party support from other committee members and the contribution of ND Eurogroup leader Eliza Vozemberg.
“I thank my colleagues for electing me Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Petitions a position I learned about while in Albanian prisons,” Beleri stressed. “It is a great honor and an even greater responsibility for a newly elected MEP and for our country. Soon, my ordeal will be over and I will be able to fully perform the duties entrusted to me by Greek citizens through their vote,” he added.
