Four Wizz Air international flights canceled due to blizzard

The severe winter conditions are taking a toll on flight traffic at the two Bucharest airports and low-cost airline Wizz Air has canceled the flights to London, Paris, Charleroi and Stockholm, the National Company Bucharest Airports (CNAB) informed in a release.

The carrier’s canceled flights are as follows: 3001/3002 Bucharest — London — Bucharest; 3051/3052 Bucharest — Paris — Bucharest; 3081/3082 Bucharest — Charleroi — Bucharest; and 3201/3203 Bucharest — Stockholm — Bucharest.

With snowfall and wind gusts severely affecting flight traffic on the ‘Henri Coanda’ and ‘Aurel Vlaicu’ International Airports of Bucharest, some flights may have take-off delayed by even more than one hour, due to the need to defrost the aircraft. Constant action is being taken on both Bucharest airports with the air hubs’ own equipment to maintain the movement areas in optimal conditions and make sure that the air operations are completely safe, CNAB said.

The company adds that real time information about the situation of the flights on the ‘Henri Coanda’ International Airport Bucharest is available on the website www.bucharestairports.ro and cautions the passengers to make a timely arrival to the airport. More…
