ForMin Aurescu: Serbia will continue to have in Romania a partner and supporter of its European journey

Serbia will continue to have in Romania a genuine partner and supporter of its European integration bid, Romania’s Foreign Minister Bogdan Aurescu said Monday.

The Romanian Foreign Ministry (MAE) reports in a press release on Monday that Aurescu on Monday attended in Brussels a meeting of the Friends of Serbia Group, on the sidelines of a meeting of the EU’s Foreign Affairs Council. Attending on behalf of Serbia were Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic and Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic.

“As a concrete example of this support, Aurescu mentioned the initiative of Romania’s Prime Minister [Victor Ponta] jointly launched with Bulgaria to coalesce a forum for further cooperation at the level of the prime ministers with Serbia unveiled on April 24, 2015, in Craiova, Romania. The Romanian dignitary also reiterated Romania’s readiness to make available to Serbia the full extent of its experience with joining the EU, particularly with the reforms needed for the preparation of the accession process,” says MAE.
