First Dance and Polyphony Festival in Dropull, Gonxhja and Kumbaro: An asset to be protected and passed down from generation to generation
TIRANA, July 16 /ATA/ The first edition of the Festival of Traditional Dances and Polyphony has taken place in Dervican of Dropull.
Minister of Economy, Culture and Innovation, Blendi Gonxhja, shared on social media a video of this activity, emphasizing that “the extraordinary traditions of costumes, dances and rituals are an asset to be protected, inherited and discovered, even for tourists who have so much to enjoy in the villages of this region”.
“This was only the first edition of the Festival of Traditional Dances and Polyphony in Dropull, featuring the most beautiful traditions of the area, which we will turn into an annual event,” said Minister Gonxhja.
Minister of Tourism and Environment, Mirela Kumbaro, also present at this event, said in her remarks that “there could not be a more beautiful place than this square which we inaugurated together, with friends from Greece and Prime Minister Rama, a few months ago, to celebrate a special evening of Greek culture, which is so wonderfully represented by the Greek minority”.
Emphasizing the blend of both cultures, that of Greek and Albanian in Dropull, the minister promised the support on behalf of the ministry she runs for more editions of this dance and polyphony festival in the future.
