Bucharest, Dec 3 /Agerpres/ – A special screening of the film Three Kilometers to the End of the World, the official submission of Romania for the ‘Best International Feature Film’ category of the 97th Academy Awards in 2025, followed by a Q&A with director Emanuel Parvu and producer Miruna Berescu, will be organized on Wednesday by the Romanian Cultural Institute (ICR) in New York.
The event will take place at the IFC Center, the famous New York cinema dedicated to art and independent films, and will also mark the National Day, as part of the campaign for the Academy Awards, ICR New York informed on Tuesday.
Three Kilometers to the End of the World, the third feature film by director Emanuel Parvu, that had its world premiere at the 77th Cannes Film Festival, where it was selected to compete for the Palme d’Or and won the Queer Palm, was subsequently presented in the selection of the 58th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, received the best director prize at the Jerusalem Film Festival, and took the Best Feature Film prize at the 30th Sarajevo Film Festival
The campaign for the Academy Awards in the “Best International Feature Film” category, mainly financed by the Ministry of Culture and supported by Joshua Jason Public Relations and the Romanian Cultural Institute, aims, at this stage, to get the film included in the list of nominations.
