Exhibition dedicated to Mother Teresa, Begaj-Osmani: Her legacy continues to inspire millions around the world

An exhibition in honor of Mother Teresa, on the day of her canonization, was opened on Tuesday in the premises of the President’s office.

Present at the opening ceremony of the exhibition were President of the Republic Bajram Begaj and President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, as well as many guests, public figures, representatives of charity associations and sisters of the order of Mother Teresa.

President Bajram Begaj said in his speech that the opening of this exhibition serves as a reminder of the great change made by Mother Teresa.

“This exhibition serves as a reminder of the great difference a single individual can make when guided by love and a deep sense of goodness. Mother Teresa’s works in service of the poor and marginalized strata, her love for those suffering and her great efforts to give hope to those in misery continue to inspire generations. Let’s move forward with her legacy that represents the values of selflessness, kindness and love in life,” Begaj emphasized.

The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, who is on the second day of her official visit to Albania, said that the history and legacy of Mother Teresa continues to inspire millions of people around the world.

“This exhibition featuring archival documents from the life of Saint Teresa is a journey through the peace of her personal history, but also of the history of humanity in general, cognizant of the fact that she belonged to everyone and was there for everyone. It showcases the documented life of the humanist whose legacy continues to inspire millions around the globe. These documents reveal the profile of Saint Teresa, the simplicity of her words, the depth of her convictions and the power of her love, as well as her Albanian roots. These documents prove that Mother Teresa did not do things for the sake of sensation, but caused a sensation by means of her actions,” she said.

The exhibition on display is a collaboration between three institutions: the General Directorate of Archives, the State Agency of Archives of Kosovo and the Institute of Cultural Heritage of the Albanians of North Macedonia.
