President of the European Parliament, Martin Schulz, arrives in Cyprus next Monday for an official visit at the invitation of President of the House of Representatives Yiannakis Omirou.
During his stay, Schulz will have separate meetings with President Nicos Anastasiades and President of the Parliament Yiannakis Omirou, an official press release said on Wednesday.
The meeting with President Anastasiades will be preceded by an official welcoming ceremony at the Presidential Palace.
Schulz will address a special session of the Plenary of the House of Representatives on Tuesday, March 29.
President Anastasiades will host an official dinner in honor of President Schulz, while the President of the Parliament will host an official lunch.
The President of the European Parliament will hold meetings with leaders and representatives of Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot political parties, at Ledra Palace under the auspices of the Slovak Embassy in Nicosia.
He will also visit the Anthropological Laboratory of the Committee on Missing Persons and will participate in a television debate with young Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots at the Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation.
Schulz will also attend a private breakfast with the Special Advisor of the United Nations Secretary General on Cyprus, Espen Barth Eide.
