ZAGREB, 8 April 2026 (Hina) – Science, Education and Youth Minister Radovan Fuchs told parliament on Wednesday that by the end of the decade every child in Croatia will have a place in kindergarten, while around four fifths of pupils will attend school in a single shift.
Fuchs said 91% of schools are expected to operate in one shift by 2029/2030, covering 82% of pupils. Two thirds of the remaining pupils will be in Zagreb. A total of €1.9 billion has been allocated for school construction, upgrades and single-shift implementation.
