ZAGREB, 30 Dec (Hina) – The State Electoral Commission (DIP) confirmed on Monday, in its announcement of the full results, that the Croatian president will be elected on 12 January in the second round of voting, where Zoran Milanović and Dragan Primorac will face off.
At a press conference, DIP released the full results of the first round of the presidential election, showing that Milanović received 797,938 votes (49.09%), while Primorac garnered 314,663 votes (19.35%).
After DIP publishes the complete results on its website today, the period for any complaints will begin, lasting until midnight on Wednesday, 1 January 2025. After this, DIP has 48 hours to decide on any complaints.
Turnout atВ 46.03%
A total of 3,762,224 citizens were eligible to vote in the first round, with 1,625,458 voters casting their ballots (46.03%). Of these, 1,606,213 votes were valid (98.24%), and 18,786 votes were invalid (1.16%).
Campaigning for the candidates advancing to the second round began today. Milanović , Primorac, and their teams may engage in campaigning until midnight on 10 January. On Saturday, 11 January, and on election day, Sunday, 12 January, election silence will be in effect.
