President of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades is continuing his official visit in Jordan with a meeting on Wednesday with the country’s King, Abdullah II, while he will also meet the Prime Minister Abdullah Nsour.
Energy matters and Amman’s participation in the cooperation scheme, Nicosia has launched with Athens and Cairo, or at a separate scheme, are expected to dominate the agenda of talks with the King, at noon.
Moreover, the refugee crisis, regional developments and EU-Jordan relations will also be discussed, with Nicosia intending to propose the Union to provide financial assistance to the Hashemite Kingdom, in order to cope with the overwhelming refugee influx.
The Cypriot side is expected to brief the King over developments regarding talks for a Cyprus settlement.
In the afternoon, President Anastasiades will meet Premier Nsour, while two men are expected to address the Press afterwards.
