Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades will meet on Tuesday with the heads of energy companies, as the deadline for the third oil and gas licensing round for blocks in Cyprus` Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) expires on July 22.
President Anastasiades will have this morning successive meetings with delegations of Israeli Delek Group and of Italian ENI.
Goverment Spokesman Nikos Christodoulides has said that there has been an increased interest in the third licensing round, noting that this is positive and constitutes a clear vote of confidence for the Republic of Cyprus` EEZ.
He further expressed hope that the preliminary interest will become a specific expression of interest before the end of the licensing round on July 22.
Meanwhile, Energy Minister Yiorgos Lakkotrypis will have meetings in the UK and the USA with companies which have expressed interest.
