Cyprus Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment Nicos Kouyialis has stressed the need to speed up the transition to a Global Bioeconomy, which will create new green jobs and will enhance employment, especially for young people.
Kouyialis was speaking in the framework of the International Forum for Food and Agriculture organized by the German Government as part of the Green Week in Berlin.
In the sidelines of the Forum, the Cypriot Minister held a meeting with his German counterpart Christian Schmidt as well as with other European Ministers of Agriculture. During those meetings, the Minister exchanged views on several issues, focusing however on the need the European Commission to approve the Rural Development Programmes of the EU member states.
