Croatian Šokota vice champion in javelin throw at U20 European Championships
ZAGREB, 10 Aug (Hina) – Veronika Šokota, a 19-year-old member of the Rijeka-based Kvarner club, won the silver in the women’s javelin throw event in the U20 European Championships in Athletics in Jerusalem on Thursday.
Serbian Adriana Vilagoš became the European champion with the 58.38 throw, whil Šokota’s throw was 55.41 metres long.
The bronze was grabbed by Hungarian javelin thrower Fanni Koever (53.09 m), while a Croatian 16-year-old girl, Vita Barbić, had her best throw of 50.36 metres and made it top four.
