ZAGREB, 16 Jan (Hina) – At the end of the third quarter last year, total financial assets of Croatian households stood at €118.35 billion, up 5% on the previous quarter and 11.6%, or €12.3 billion, higher than a year earlier, the Croatian National Bank (HNB) reported on Friday.
In the third quarter of 2025, households held the largest share of their financial assets in cash and deposits, amounting to €50.3 billion. This was followed by insurance and pensions at €30.5 billion, while €28.7 billion was invested in equity and investment fund shares.
Households’ financial liabilities rose to €31 billion, up 2.3% compared with the end of June 2025, which is 12%В or €3.3 billion more than in the same period a year earlier.
These trends resulted in an increase in the net financial worth of the household sector to €87.9 billion, which is 6% more than at the end of the second quarter of 2025 and as much as 11.4%, or €9 billion, higher than a year earlier, the central bank said.
