ZAGREB, 8 Jan (Hina) – The Croatian government on Thursday approved urgent aid to Ukraine, following Prime Minister Andrej Plenković’s participation in the Paris “coalition of the willing” meeting, where allies pledged further support to the country.

This is the 15th aid package for Ukraine and includes 100 Vulkan 10 metal-cutting mobile devices from a domestic manufacturer with associated consumables, valued at €500,000 (€625,000 with VAT), as well as surplus electromagnetic equipment for the Ukrainian energy company DTEK.

Interior Minister Davor Božinović said the Vulkan 10 equipment “is already in use in Ukraine,” while Economy Minister Ante Šušnjar explained that the electromagnetic equipment — transformers, pumps and other technical devices no longer used in Croatia — addresses the severe damage and power supply disruptions to Ukrainian infrastructure.

Plenković attended the high-level “coalition of the willing” meeting at the invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron, alongside European and transatlantic partners and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Each attending country expressed readiness to support Ukraine in its own way.

The PM noted that “some of the countries are willing to send their troops to Ukraine as part of a multinational force,” which would be deployed there after a ceasefire to preserve peace and prevent further Russian aggression on Ukrainian territory.

Plenković stressed that Croatia has never considered sending troops to Ukraine but will continue to support the country politically, economically, energetically and militarily. He reiterated Croatia’s commitment to a just and lasting peace that respects international law and ensures Ukraine does not have to cede territory to Russia.
