Bulgaria Celebrates National Day

Sofia, March 3 (BTA) – On March 3, Bulgaria celebrates its National Day and marks the 137th anniversary of its Liberation from Ottoman rule. 137 years ago today, the Treaty of San Stefano was signed to end the Russo-Turkish War of Liberation.
Celebrations are held across the country. In Sofia, the national flag was raised at the Monument to the Unknown Soldier in the presence of President Rosen Plevneliev, the Parliament leader, government officials, other state representatives and members of the public. MORE
